Stories of loss, hope and recovery
Inspired by true stories of those impacted by flood and bushfire disasters, this theatre show weaves stories, live music, dance, comedy and everyday characters facing the reality and effects of climate change. A topical show performed by a cast of 16 that has been trained by Full-On Theatre facilitators Dave Houston, Adrienne Meg Lester, Mitch King and Lainie Chait with drama teacher Simone Museth.
The intention of this show is to promote personal and community trauma recovery through sharing art and stories, which is a very beautiful way of taking the past that’s been destroyed and making something beautiful for the future.
Over the past year, Full-On Theatre has been a theatre company in residence at Byron Bay High School. The students and professional artists have created the show from personal bushfire and flood stories, research, interviews and extensive discussions of their own experiences and opinions.
Some people may find the content of the show triggering. We have mental health professionals and organisations involved in the theatre foyer and a Q&A, unpacking the themes of the show, occurs following the performance.
