DAVE HOUSTONDave Houston is Artistic Director of Full On Theatre with 30+ years’ experience creating and touring professional theatre nationally and internationally, and delivering community-based projects nationally. He has developed 20+ productions and strong partnerships with national mental health organisations and First Nations communities across Australia.
Dave’s been making theatre professionally since 1988 – acting, writing, directing, producing and playing music in work that lands in festivals, professional venues, schools, and communities. He trained in acting at the Victorian College of the Arts and screenwriting at RMIT, and regularly undertakes workshops with international theatre teachers. At 24, he took his first solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Decades later, he created his second solo show, STILL HERE by Dave & the Daves, a depression comedy. In 2024, he co-created AWKward in New York City during a residency. He is now developing a third solo show, ME vs ME, and collaborating on STRONG MOB, an Indigenous-led project five years in the making, premiering November 2026. Dave continues to make theatre that is entertaining, socially engaged, and profoundly human.
