DAVE HOUSTON has been an artist in residence in a variety of settings, such as schools, dairy farms, regional towns, remote Indigenous communities, senior citizen clubs and he looks forward to the next unusual gig.  In 2013 Dave was artist in residence at a Dairy Farm near Kerang, Victoria.  He ran percussion workshops at the farm and created a recorded music piece using the sounds of the working farm, intercut with Vox pop from the diary farmers life.

In 2014 he was an artist in residence for a week at a town in northern Victoria called Quambatook. Dave recorded audio of various peoples stories and lives, as well as video footage, photographs, (archival & present day). This material was mixed and manipulated using various software and then edited into a 30-minute film that was projected onto 3 giant wheat silos on one hot February night. The project was funded by the Shire of Gannawarra and Regional Arts Victoria.

Follow up news. " Have you seen the Quamby silo cinema FaceBook  page lately? https://www.facebook.com/QuambySiloCinema/, you really  found a spark in that town that set them off."
Kirsten Orr | Arts and Culture Assistant | Gannawarra Shire Council
