Bundjalung Minjungbal Art & Kulcha Event
Crabbes Creek Hall Saturday 26 August 2023 9am-11pm
A deadly day and night of ceremony, dance, language, music, smoking and yarning around the fires. Jarjums (kids) craft sessions, spear making, weaving, jewelry making, art tours and an art exhibition in the hall with live music across 2 stages.
This event is a fundraiser with donations going towards building a Minjungbal Bundjalung Healing Centre on-country, which will be a purpose built cultural building to address trauma and mental health challenges in our community.
Entry By donation. ($15 recommended. $40 family) Indigenous mob free.

Theatre Strong Mob Theatre project presented by Full-On Theatre with Mitch King, Uncle Colin Appo, Kerz Lake and Dave Houston. Strong Mob is an Abodigital, ceremonial, theatre show featuring stories, dance, live music. Full show coming in 2024.
PROGRAM
The day starts with a smoking ceremony at 9.30am followed by morning Kultcha activities and a program for jarjums (kids). The day features 2 dance troupes and activities around the fire, including musicians playing across 2 stages. At 4 pm there is a work in progress 20 minute showing of STRONG MOB THEATRE PRODUCTION.
Activities run throughout the day include: Spear making, Weaving, Language workshops, Jewellery making, Jarjum painting, Bush tucker, Artwork tours and Fire yarning. The day starts with a smoking ceremony at 9.30am and activities run throughout the day with 3 special events.
Mid Morning Dancing with Uncle Mudjai and the Kids’ Caring For Country Dancers.
