               MY FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY

Picture
MY FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY is a film about hope, survival and friendship. A blackfella music documentary road adventure like no other. Keith Aitken is the glue that links two worlds together, the old and new, the black and white. He is not on about ‘white guilt.’ He looks to a future, celebrating the best of both cultures. The product of a white father and a black mother. He himself is the reconciliation.

Keith is a Yankunytjatjara man from the APY Lands, 'the Mick Jagger of the desert', who with no birth certificate is on a quest for a passport and to become an Australian Citizen.

If he becomes an 'Aussie' come & be part of Keith's First Birthday party in the Northern Territory in 2025 ( His 70th birthday now)

MY FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY has three components.

  1. A documentary film journey of heading back 'home'  to Lilla, NT, interwoven with his quest to become an 'Aussie' with a passport and a ticket to ride.
  2. A Community Arts and Wellbeing Program across three primary schools Watarrka, Imanpa and Areyonga, near Kings Canyon in the Northern Territory preparing content for the party.
  3. A community and professional family concert showcasing local talent and the celebration of a unique First Australian.
